3 Columbus Circle and 240 Central Park South, 3:00PM
In the foreground, the roof of 3 Columbus Circle, and a different perspective on the CNN sign that faces Columbus Circle. To the right, the recently-renovated 240 Central Park South sports a refreshed green roof in keeping with its original 1941 motto: “Where the Park is Part of the Plan.”
240 Central Park South is the only fully restored landmark on Columbus Circle, and with the help of an artfully landscaped green roof by Balmori Associates and some loving updates by architect Douglas J. Lister, its ideas remain as current as when it was built.
Photographed from the 44th floor of Hearst Tower (300 W57th Street).
